Pickup Instructions
Please read before you come β it takes two minutes and saves a lot of popped balloons.
Where to go
Pull into our back lot. You'll know you're in the right place β look for our box truck marked JETX AEROSPACE and our white Ford Transit van. Park there and come to the back door. That's where all pickups happen.
π 7414 Madison Street, Forest Park, IL 60130
Come to the back door and text us
Park, walk up to the back door, and text us at (708) 773-6003 to let us know you're here. Someone will meet you at the door with your order.
If no one answers, check the lock box
We're often out running deliveries. If nobody comes to the door, your order is secured in the lock box by the back door. Text us and we'll send you the code right away β we don't post it in advance, so please don't come without your phone.
Your pickup window is 15 minutes
Balloons are inflated fresh and staged for your exact pickup time, so please arrive within your 15-minute window. Outside that window we can't guarantee your order will be ready and waiting. If you're running late or need to change your time, text us as early as you can and we'll do our best.
Bring the right vehicle
Balloons take up far more room than people expect. A dozen filled latex balloons will fill a back seat.
- Recommended: SUV, minivan, van, or a car with fold-down seats
- Not workable: small sedans, coupes, or anything where the order has to ride in the trunk
- Clear the seats and fold them down before you arrive
- Turn the fan and vents off and roll windows up before we load β a blast of air will send balloons everywhere
- If you have a big arrangement, arch, or garland, bring a second set of hands
Balloon DOs
- DO transport balloons in a climate-controlled car β keep the cabin comfortable, not baking in summer and not freezing in winter
- DO go straight to your destination β balloons are happiest out of the car
- DO keep foil (mylar) balloons cool and latex balloons out of direct sun
- DO hold weights and ribbons firmly when moving through doorways and parking lots
- DO store them indoors, away from vents, heaters, and windows, if you're picking up the day before
- DO keep weights attached to every helium balloon so nothing takes off
- DO expect latex to be short-lived: 12β24 hours floating (longer if we've treated them), while foil balloons last 3β5 days or more
Balloon DON'Ts
- DON'T leave balloons in a hot car, even for ten minutes. Heat expands helium and latex will pop β this is the #1 reason orders don't make it home. No errands on the way!
- DON'T put balloons in the trunk. No air, high heat, and they get crushed
- DON'T let them sit in direct sunlight, especially against a car window
- DON'T carry them outdoors on a windy day without a firm grip and enough weight
- DON'T rub balloons against rough brick, stucco, concrete, or velcro β it takes almost nothing to pop one
- DON'T hang them near ceiling fans, recessed or halogen lights, fireplaces, grills, or A/C and heating vents
- DON'T panic if balloons shrink and droop on a cold day β that's just Chicago winter compressing the helium. Bring them inside and they'll plump back up in 20β30 minutes
- DON'T leave them in a freezing car overnight either β cold makes latex brittle and it splits
- DON'T let children or pets play with uninflated or popped latex β it's a choking hazard
- DON'T inhale helium
- DON'T release balloons outdoors β please pop and dispose of them responsibly when the party's over
